Everyone has questions. We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore the Christian faith, ask questions and share their point of view; wherever they are along the journey. Alpha is a 9-week series of dinners and discussion. We think this series is best done with a friend, co-worker, or family member. Alpha will meet on Friday nights at 6:30 p.m. starting September 14.

Who is it for?
Wanting to explore the “basics” of what it means to be a Christian?
Feeling like what you learned as a child or have cobbled together as an adult is more like bits and pieces rather than “the whole thing” when it comes to your spiritual life?
Have you outgrown the faith you had, but aren’t sure about your faith for the next chapter of your life?

Then Alpha is for you!
Alpha is for those on a spiritual journey, or who might consider a spiritual journey; for those who have inherited a faith but aren’t sure it is their own; for those whose faith has faltered, withered, or disappeared altogether – whose faith seemingly has given out, though they themselves haven’t totally given up. Alpha is also for new believers who want to add some understanding to their believing.

Brief Description of Alpha
Alpha is a nine week practical introduction to the Christian faith built on hospitality, relationships, presentations, small group experiences in a low-threshold, low-risk environment. Worldwide, over 16 million people in 169 countries have gone on an Alpha course. In the U.S. more than 2 million people have gone on the Alpha Course. It is used in a wide variety of denominational and independent churches.

A Typical Alpha Evening
An Alpha session typically begins with an enjoyable dinner or other refreshments.
There is a presentation on the topic of the session (see list below).
There is a discussion in small groups about the presentation.
We start and end on time
Childcare is provided at no cost.
In fact, the Alpha Course is provided at no cost to participants.

Note – the small group discussion is not led by a teacher, but is moderated by a host.  All opinions are welcome. You are welcome to speak or to listen and will probably do both.  This is an exploration, so nobody will tell anybody what they have to believe or should believe or must believe.  Remember: low-threshold and no pressure. Just conversation about issues that are important to many of us.
